Humility

Humility

Top of Form

True humility is surrendering completely to God's Will.

False humility is using our own will in an attempt to be humble.

When none of my own will remains, and my will becomes God's will, then I will be humble enough.

True humility comes when the ego stands aside.

True humility comes with the surrender of our will to God's will. This is the foundation of all other acts of true humility. Humility begins by giving God first place in our decisions, our actions and our motivations.

Humility is not denying the power we have, but admitting that the power comes through us and not from us.

We would know when we are humble enough when the concept of humility no longer enters our mind.
False humility is just another ego tool. When we are truly humble the concept of humility no longer enters our consciousness because our will is God's will.

Jesus had true humility. His mission was to "be about his Father's work". He really only began his ministry in full after the demise of John the Baptist. And maybe if John the Baptist had not been executed, Jesus (his cousin) would never have emerged as the new head of this very spiritually minded family. There was certain reluctance in performing his first miracle, as his time had not yet come.
